Equestria Time,
come on grab your dragon,
we’ll go to a parallel dimension.
With Spike the dog and Twilight the human,
the friendship will never end,
it’s Equestria Time!
(I’m sorry, blame this)
‘Bout all the Equestria Girls thing going on around…
I notice a lot of people are failing to research and/or read (if the place where you read about it mentions it) one little detail that made all the difference for me: it’s gonna be a movie, not a show.
And that, on its own, changes everything. I was completely against it at first because of two reasons:
1- I didn’t much like the idea. As a starting and finishing story arc? Yes. As its own continued show? Not interested.
2- If the same team or at least same company was working on it, it could have possibly meant a loss of qualify in the original show, or even worse, it could take over and make the old one disappear.
3- Flashy colored humans, eww.
So all in all, I went from “oh please no…” to “oh, awesome, can’t wait to see it”. Mainly cause they’ll have to answer a bunch of questions we’ve had and give “canon answers” to some stuff. So yeah, just thought I’d try and make at least a small group of people more informed.
OOC Announcement: Alright, so…
… I didn’t exactly get the overwhelming amount of feedback I was (not) expecting, regarding my last post, but at least I didn’t get any negative one either, so I guess that means I’m allowed to make some posts in that style now and then.
Still, I’m probably gonna research on the fine art of inking-without-it-looking-like-a-pack-of-hounds-gnawed-on-the-lines. Cause I’m sure there has to be some way that doesn’t involve not-almost-having Parkinson’s syndrome x_x You know, maybe a digital way. Or just some inking tool that makes a smooth line no matter how bad you are with it, lol.
Wish me luck.
This is kind of random.
((First hand-drawn response evah!! I don’t think it was supposed to be an actual question, it was just a reply to a comment I made, but I got tempted xD
Don’t worry, I’m not gonna switch to this style, but I decided I really needed to do some real drawing for a change. It’s kind of sketchy but that’s sorta the idea. I really can’t make something look all nice and clean with my skills so I go for a “sketchy line” style that I kinda like. Of course the coloring and whatnot is all made digitally, but the linework is pencil. And I mean it’s actually scanned straight from the pencil. It looks terrible if I try to ink it, I’m just no good at manual stuff xD If only I could get used to drawing with a tablet…
Little details different from usual due to this. No gradient in the iris. I could do it but dunno, just decided not to, this time. No “triangle shine thingies” either. I’ll never do that out of a vector-based program, lol. The outline of the secondary color in the mane is a bit blurry, less sharp. I kinda like it that way with this style.
Anyways, I’d really appreciate it if you guys could tell me what you think about this style. Is it okay? Is it good? Is it terrible? Do I owe you for eye surgery? Would if be fine if I made some answers like this now and then?))
This is why I tend to keep open the programs/pages that I have to do some work with. Constant reminder.
And to make these jokes.
And yes, pony icons.
Quick! Draw a pineapple! Everypony loves pineapples! Draw a pony WITH a pineapple! Draw a pineapple-themed pony with a pineapple! Draw a pineapple-themed pony with a pony-shaped pineapple! Everypony loves pineapple ponies with pony pineapples!
Like so, more or less?
Have pineapples, courtesy of the Trees.
Disturbingly enough I kinda like the last one… And yes, this was all mouse-drawn in Paint. ‘Cept the letters, ‘course. I did write those in Paint initially, but then I noticed “pineapple” actually has an
e between the
n and the
a…
*ahem*
Don’t worry, I’m still working on something for real…
